My name is Lee Dixon aka Dicko, Dino, Jessie Ryder.
Some people just play league cricket, others play out of habit. But there are many such as I, who live and breath it, wait every Monday morning for the famous Cheshire Newsletter and know every player they play each week. I take pleasure in watching friends from opposition teams grow and develop there skills.
I have been all those things for as long as I remember, from a toddler down at Upton Cricket Club to the 25 year old minor counties batsman now at Chester Boughton Hall. I have wanted my game and team to succeed and get every inch from a cricket club.
My cricket has changed over the past five years, from a bowling all rounder, to a top order batsman who dreams to get a bowl in the odd cup game. My dream like every young boy was to play on TV and go all the way, but I am proud of my accomplishments. The highlight of my career, 169 on debut vs Oxfordshire, gave my father a moment to watch and cherish for all those throw downs he has given me.
This blog hopefully gives an honest insight into the league I love and some of the friends I have had the pleasure to play with or against in the last 14 years of county league cricket.
