Hastings continue to lead the Sussex Premier league ahead of title holders Preston Nomads. Both clubs enjoyed maximum point victories on Saturday.
Horsham were held to a draw by lowly Eastbourne, Roffey held on for a draw at East Grinstead but the surprise of the day was a first win of the season by Pulborough, by 84 runs at Brighton and Hove.
Sussex youngster Matt Machan led Hastings to 241 all out at home to Chichester and he was well supported by Harry Finch with 42, Jophn Morgan (37) and Andy Cornford who made 31.
For Chichester the bowling hero was Richard Logan with figures of 6 for 66. But the visitors found batting tough as they slipped to 80 all out, skipper Mark Bamford was top scorer, he made just 26 as teenage paceman Joyal Ahmed took 4 for 22.
There were two wickets each for spinner Josh Poysden and Mick Glazier to take Hastings to their seventh win in ten starts to date.
There was deadlock at Horsham where the home side declared at 255 for 8 from 57 overs against Eastbourne who included former Sussex skipper Alan Wells for the first time.
In the Horsham score Matt Henry hit 58 and Sam Cushing 40 not out while Ed Giddins grabbed 3 for 43.
Eastbourne found their run chase a tough one against a turning ball but a century stand between Angus Stewart (59) and Alan Wells (48) gave them hope before they had to settle for playing out a draw at 179 for 8.
Will Beer took 3 for 43 and Michael Munday 3 for 37.
Preston Nomads continued their battle to retain their crown with a narrow two wicket win at Three Bridges.
They put the home side in and dismissed them for 201 of which Joe Cooke made 51 as Carl Simon, with 4 for 62, took his wickets for the League season so far to 41 !
In reply the match winning innings of 82 came from Alasdair Wilson while, for Bridges, Abdul Khan took 3 for 69.
Pulborough are still bottom despite their first win of the season at Brighton and Hove.
They made 251 for 9 declared with 55 from Tom Crump and 35 from Saj Chaudhury as Matt Wood took 4 for 61, there were two wickets each for Chris Atherton and Patrick Spencer.
But Brighton and Hove then tumbled to 167 all out with Tim Jarvis their top scorer with 44.
It was the medium pace of Max Barson that did the damage, he took 7 for 49.
The remaining game saw Roffey hang on for a draw at East Grinstead facing a total of 255 for 5 declared made by the home side.
In that total Will Adkin hit 83 and Matt Sugg 77, Luke Barnard taking 4 for 96.
Roffey collapsed to 12 fr 3 but skipper Mike Norris with 54 helped them to 154 for 5 at stumps, Lewis Hatchett with 2 for 18 was the pick of the bowlers.
