Hastings have consolidated their place at the top of the Sussex Premier League following a convincing 155 run victory at home to Brighton and Hove.
Horsham and East Grinstead both won their games and are now, respectively, second and third, ahead of Preston Nomads who had no game on Saturday.
The relegation battle promises to go right down to the wire. Eastbourne, Pulborough and Chichester are separated by just 12 points with Three Bridges and Brighton and Hove also looking over their shoulders.
At Hastings Sussex youngster Matt Machan cracked 129 and shared a second wicket stand of 204 with Max Finzel (95) to help Hastings to a challenging 298 for 3 declared after winning the toss.
Brighton and Hove were then dismissed for 143 as veteran left-arm spinner Mick Glazier took 6 for 34 and there were two wickets each for Josh Poysden and Joynal Ahmed.
Horsham enjoyed a comfortable eight wicket win at Pulboroough who they bowled out for just 145 after asking the home side to bat.
In that score Harwit Baidwan made 39 and Amit Suman 30 not out as Matt Barry took 4 for 37 and Sam Cushing 3 for 30.
The home side then won at 146 for 2 as James Johnson hit 56 not out and Will Beer made
57.
East Grinstead made a big total of 279 for 7 at Three Bridges having won the toss with 70 from Toby Margetts and 49 from Sussex youngster Lewis Hatchett as Jigga Parekh took 4 for 76.
The home side then crashed to 77 all out as Lewis Hatchett took 5 for 31 !
The bottom of the table clash at Eastbourne saw visitors Chichester hold out for a draw facing a massive 280 for 6 declared from the home side which included two centuries !
Skipper Mark Tomsett made 112 and 17 year-old Hugh Finzel hit a maiden League century with 102.
In reply Chichester were soon in trouble at 30 for 3 but held on at 199 for 7 with 65 from Matt Gregory and 58 not out from Richard Logan.
For Eastbourne Stuart Pulford took 2 for 24 and Ed Giddins 2 for 46.
