Nick Trainor helped knock off 290 to give Frocester another victory
Bridgwater CC reached the mid-point of the WEPL Premier 1 season with a comprehensive victory against unexpected strugglers Taunton St Andrews, having bowled their opposition out for 58 thanks mainly to Ian Bishop and Michael Coles who took 4 wickets apiece, and then knocking off the required runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the 9th over.
This victory took Bridgwater into joint 2nd place with 2010 winners Bath. 50s from Mike Smyth and Lloyd Davies safely saw them to victory against Downend, and kept them within touching distance of league leaders Frocester who had a battle on their hands away to Thornbury.
Juvaunie Gayle (102) and Richard Trotman (52) helped Thornbury to 290, and Frocester successfully chased it down due to Nick Trainor and Kieron Smith both posted half centuries as Frocester snuck over the line with 5 balls to spare having needed 130 off the last 10.
Weston fell 10 runs short against Taunton Deane, but secured themselves comfortably in the middle of the table while at the bottom of the table Bristol made light work of beating fellow strugglers Corsham.
