Corsham's 'leggie' Tom Bowler gets a hat-trick
Two Prem 1 matches were victims of the torrential rain during the week, as Bristol v Bath and Downend v Bridgwater never even got going.
Weston managed to host their fixture against Thornbury, but the game was reduced to 34 overs aside, and the result was really decided on the toss of the coin, as Thornbury asked Weston to bat and kept them to 114 for 9, before knocking the runs off for the loss of 4 wickets with 8 overs to spare. The game did see John Williams fall 1 run short of his first half century on his return to Weston after a Japan-work based absence during the first half of the season, matched only by Thornbury’s Chris Dent (58*)
Corsham finally showed what they were made of against Taunton Deane, scoring over 300, thanks in the main to Robin D’souza and Sam Mount and bowling them out for 137 due to a hatrick from Tom Bowler.
And rounding things off, Taunton St Andrews were bowled out for less than 100 for the second week running, while Frocester needed only 15 overs to knock off the required runs, and secure themselves in top spot for another week.
