Winter Cricket Coaching In Hampshire
During the second half of the summer, LCA Cricket Coaching has been working extremely hard preparing for a number of winter academies over the county. The Rose Bowl Plc have kindly allowed us to feature one of our flagship courses at the fantastic indoor school facility in Hedge End, Southampton. This course will bring together some of the regions’ finest young cricketers for a 10 week coaching academy that will hopefully see dramatic improvements and help each individual move on to bigger and better things in the cricketing world next summer. The coaching course is set out to offer professional cricket coaching to elite youngsters offering them the opportunity to learn from some of the current and ex Hampshire professionals whilst engaging in internationally renowned skills and drills. Head coach, Richard Logan, previously of Hampshire said, “these academies are completely new and really do improve the standard of cricket coaching available in the area”; he continued to add, “we hope that LCA Cricket Coaching can do a great job in increasing the standard of Hampshire junior cricket in years to come”.
The Rose Bowl Academy has filled up a month in advance of the start of the course and we look forward to seeing the likes of Richard Logan, David Balcombe, Chris Benham, Michael Lumb & Kabir Ali all passing on their invaluable knowledge to some of the most gifted children in the region.Courses are also available in Portsmouth where the structure is very similar to that of the Rose Bowl course and where we hope to be able to cater for many of the South East Hampshire Junior Cricketers and aid their development.
Winter Cricket Coaching In Sussex
With both Richard Logan & myself playing league cricket in Sussex, we really feel passionate about passing on our information and knowledge to the youngsters in the Sussex region. This is why, after a fantastic summer of coaching at Priory Park, Chichester, we have decided to run no less that 5 winter academies from October through until December. They will work on a similar format to the Hampshire Winter Academies running for 90 minutes per week per age group for 10 consecutive weeks. These courses, whilst they take place in Chichester, are not restricted to members of Chichester CC and LCA Cricket Coaching would love to be able to coach as many young cricketers as possible. There are 4 boys winter academies, 2 at Chichester High School on a Tuesday evening and 2 at Bishop Luffa School on a Wednesday evening that will cover all the basic elements of each cricketing discipline progressing throughout the course towards more intense, in-depth coaching. On top of these courses, there will also be LCA Cricket Coaching’s first Girls Academy. This has been organised on the back of a successful season in girls cricket in Sussex and to encourage more girls to take up the sport during the winter months in preparation for hopefully, a stronger tournament next year.
Once again, coaching at all the academies in Sussex will be conducted by a mix of current & ex professionals as well as professional standard coaches with no less than Level 2 qualifications. This will ensure delivery of the best possible cricket coaching techniques currently available to us and bespoke drills designed to benefit certain individuals.
Winter Cricket Coaching In Surrey
Unfortunately, despite a brilliant Summer Course at East Molesey Cricket Club in Surrey, the venue for our winter academy in Surrey has fallen through and we will have to wait until 2011 before we can run another course in the Surrey region. Bespoke club coaching is still available with more and more clubs in Surrey making contact about them.
We look forward to our first successful winter and hope to see many of our kids going on to receive representative honours with their respective counties. Please keep a look out for master class sessions running throughout the period.
