A club chairman will chair the meetings of the club’s cricket committee. They will formulate and lead the club towards a long term goal and vision. They will motivate other members of the club to work together to move the club forward and will represent the club at any formal occasion. Cricket clubs need players to exist, so a huge part of what a chairman will do will involve recruiting seniors and junior members.
Many chairmen see their youth sections being a massive driving force in recruiting new senior members. If the youth section is in place, thriving and run well then the senior section is a natural stepping stone!
