Lullington Park.CC are set to take advantage of the last bank holiday weekend of the cricket season with an action packed few days planned for the Derbyshire club.
There are four league matches on the Saturday with the 1st team away to Denby.CC in the ECB Derbyshire Premier League while the 2nd team are at home to Elvaston.CC, 3rd team away to Littleover Centurions.CC and 4th team home to Hartshorne in Derbyshire County League action.
On Sunday there is an exciting game in prospect in the Park with the Premier Challenge as Lullington's 1st team entertain the Derbyshire Academy with an 11am start.
The 2nd team have a friendly fixture at home to old friends and rivals Nuneaton.CC on the second ground.
From 6pm onwards there will be hot food available with an evening of activities with everyone welcome.
Bank Holiday Monday sees Lullington’s players in action for the traditional fun Super Eights competition.
The format is 8 players a side, 7 overs each innings, with everyone bowling 1 over except the keeper.
‘The Young Guns’ are looking to retain their title this year and sit in group 1 with ‘Mighty Midgets and Ferny’, ‘Tom Chapman VIII’ and ‘The Bedwetters’.
‘Jaipur Cottages’, ‘Swan Vestas’, ‘Linton United’ and ‘Big Dans Allstars’ are all the clubs that make up group 2 of the competition.
With fancy dress encouraged and all the matches being played with pink balls, it is all set to be an entertaining day for everyone involved.
The bar will be open all day along with a BBQ on the go for the spectators throughout the matches.
With £160 at stake for the winners of the competition, it’s set to be an entertaining tournament with a competitive edge in what will be a great way to end an action packed weekend.
