Ampthill Town Cricket Club
Ampthill Town Cricket Club are set to face their biggest challenge of the season as they face a team of ex-international cricketing stars next month.
On 17th August, the Bedfordshire club will host the world famous Lashings XI at their home ground Ampthill Park.
Skippered by Phil Defreitas, the lashings team will be full to the brim of world renowned ex- professional cricketers.
It is not yet known which players face the Saracens Herfordshire Division One league side, but ex test players Mohammed Akram, Saqlain Mushtaq, Courtney Walsh & Devon Malcolm all feature in the 2012 squad.
The game starts at 2.30 with gates opening from 12.30 and car parking is £5 a car which includes a match day programme.
There will be an outside bar at the club on match day, with a BBQ on offer for all the spectators.
The chance to face six balls or bowl six balls at a Lashings player is just one of the prizes available in the raffles that will take place throughout the day.
