The innings was slow starting gone are the days of going after the attack from the first few balls & putting the opposition under immediate pressure.
Scott McNeil who has been holding the innings together in previous weeks was dismissed but his studious approach had rubbed off on Martin Weightman who built a match winning innings.
Weightman carried his bat through to register a score of 104 including 9 fours & two sixes with support from Tom Lungley (51) & a late innings blast from Adam Shepherd with 32 from 23 balls including 4 sixes.
The Clifton bowlers would at least be taking the field with some form of a score to bowl at.
The Clifton innings concluded at 256 for 7 & with an extended tea break thanks to a further shower it was back out for Plumtree’s reply.
The Plumtree batsman all got starts but they failed to capitalise on those starts & post a match winning innings.
Man of the Match Martin Weightman picked up the early wickets of Edwards & Storey for 28 & 15 respectively but it was the spin from Alex Turner who really moved things in Cliftons favour with 4 for 24 from 8 overs.
All the bowlers were tight apart from Shepherd, and it was Adam who clean bowled Ben Milnes the Plumtree top scorer with 41 and put Clifton into the ascendancy.
Stubborn batting from Matt Milnes (33*) prevented the Clifton victory but the hosts finished the game with the winning draw.
