The behaviour of players in 3^rd team Sunday cricket must drastically improve according to Cheshire County League Chairman David Humpage.

There has been a handful of incidences of in-discipline and poor sportsmanship in the 3^rd XI league’s this season, including one match which resulted in both sides walking off the field in a bad-tempered game.

Humpage feels any further in-disicpline next season should be dealt with firmly: “Abuse of opposition players will not be tolerated and while the Discipline committee had to meet far too often this year, they will do so again if it helps stamp out this ill-feeling. Severe punishments will be meted out to those who overstep the mark.”

The league’s Saturday 3^rd XI cricket also endured a mixed season with the clear drop in standard highlighted at the league’s recent Third XI club representatives meeting at Warrington.

The meeting also discussed the possibility of overseas students with up to six months UK residential qualification being permitted to play in the league, although up to what level has not yet been considered.

The idea that the Sunday 1^st and 2^nd Divisions should be regionalised to cut down on travel to aid young players who had played in the morning was not approved by the representatives.

Another idea discussed that the Sunday 3^rd and 4^th Divisions should be reduced to 40-overs per-side was also rejected.
