Fleetwood Cricket Club

Fleetwood Cricket Club secured their first Northern Premier League title since 2005 after finishing just six points off 2^nd place Barrow Cricket Club.

The club won an impressive 15 matches throughout the season, including 10 batting second to take the crown.

Kendal.CC batsman Jamie How topped the run-scoring table for the league, reaching a remarkable 1060 runs at an average of 88.

The former New Zealand international finished a big 391 runs ahead of Netherfield.CC batsman John Huck who came runner-up in the runs-scoring table.

Preston.CC skipper Lukman Vahaluwala finished top of the bowlers equivalent taking 72 wickets at an average of 9.

Barrow’s Daryl Wearing and St Annes.CC’s Dinuka Hettiarachchi came a close 2^nd, both reaching 64 wickets.

Leyland.CC won an impressive 13 matches on their way to the Division Two title.

The club secured 10 victories batting first to finish 29 points off 2^nd place Barrow.

It was almost a double celebration for Fleetwood come the end of the season but the club were edged out by Kendal in the final of the Readers Cup (Division One).

Nick Lewthwaite took 3-10 & Chris Miller finished with figures of 5-43, as Kendal reached the target of 124 to take a 3-wicket win.

Leyland comprehensively won the final of the Readers Cup (Division Two) after dismissing St Annes for just 96 to secure a 163-run victory.
