Lewis Hatchett in action for Sussex
East Grinstead.CC seamer Lewis Hatchett has won the LCA Bowler of the Week Award for the second time this season.
The 22-year old finished with incredible figures of 9-17 in the clubs convincing 188-run victory over Worthing.CC in the Sussex Premier League.
Hampshire Academy spinner Mason Crane had earlier taken 4-84 for Worthing to restrict the home side to 245 for 8 off 58 overs.
Hatchett did not look back after dismissing opener Andy Reid for the first ball of the innings, and tore through the Worthing batting line-up with an excellent display of fast-bowling.
Only two of the league newcomer’s batsman reached double figures with seven of Hatchett’s dismissals coming as bowled.
Worthing eventually collapsed 57 all-out inside 15 overs to hand the victory to East Grinstead which surely confirms the clubs status in the Sussex Premier League for another season.
It is the second time Hatchett has taken 9 wickets in a match this season, after taking 9-22 against Brighton & Hove in May to win the LCA Bowler of the Week Award for the first time.
The left-arm seamer, who has been ever-present in the Sussex 2nd XI this season, now has the 3rd & 4th best figures in all of the ECB Premier Leagues in the country this year.
