Loughborough Town Cricket Club remained unbeaten throughout the Leicestershire Premier Division season to retain their title.
Loughborough, who finished 55 points off 2nd place Market Harborough.CC, won an incredible 15 matches on their way to the crown.
The club’s success in the league was partly down to batsman Sundeep Patel, who hit 782 runs at an average of 71.
The former Leicestershire 2XI batsman also finished top of the Premier Division’s run-scoring table, highlighting his importance to the side.
And it was another Loughborough player who finished top of the bowler’s wicket-taking table.
Seamer Oliver Freckingham, who is on the books at Leicestershire, finished the season with 34 wickets at an average of just 12.
It’s Thorpe Arnold.CC and Lutterworth.CC who drop out of the Premier Division after they finished in the bottom two of the league.
Lutterworth finished the season with -46 points after a hefty fine was placed upon the club because of ineligible player issues.
It’s Langtons.CC and Earl Shilton Town.CC who gain promotion into Leicestershire’s top-flight after finishing in the top two places of Division One.
The pair were good value for their promotion with their closest challengers Countesthorpe.CC a full 83 points from 2nd place.
