7-33 from professional Umar Amin helped Morecambe continue their winning streak with 25-run victory over Kendall Cricket Club in the Northern Premier League.

Asked to bat first on what looked a green wicket, Morecambe openers Ikram Ullah and Josh Dixon made an assured start.

Ullah the aggressor looked calm and relaxed as he stroked first Stu Parkin followed by Jack White over the top of mid-on for two glorious boundaries.

With Dixon rotating the strike the pair looked good frustrating the Kendal attack. 

Ullah (21) however was to fall caught at 3rd man off a leading edge giving White his first victim. 

Professional Umar Amin joined Dixon and looked in superb touch from the start dispatching Cumberland’s Chris Miller for a straight 6.

Amin’s well made 20 came to an end as he drove straight at cover, and Dixon (14) was soon to follow trying to repeat the cover drive for 4 he had made earlier in the over getting an inside edge back onto his stumps.

Lewis Edge and Tom Barnfield were aggressive in their approach however both were to fall along with Ryan Pearson and Morecambe were wobbling.

However Gazz Pedder (11) and Gulam Madge (17) dragged Morecambe back mixing singles with the odd boundary. 

Miller was to claim Pedder with a smart catch off his own bowling but the tail was to wag with James Law (16 n.o) and Gert Maartens (8 n.o) carrying on the good work taking Morecambe to a total of 138-8 off.

Kendal’s reply began slowly very slowly indeed, both openers Baker and Du Plessis content on survival and 10 overs ticked by very quickly with few scoring shots.

Amin however sniffed wickets, and his bowling alongside that of Pedder and secondly Reg Cupit was superb. 

Cupit was Amin’s perfect partner as he removed the openers Cupit removed Kendal professional Jamie How caught by Ryan Pearson at point for only 6. 

Still Terry Hunte (11) was at the crease, and anything was still possible until Cupit trapped him infront. 

Kendal’s batsmen were struggling with the moving ball and it showed as Amin removed Lewthwaite, Phillips and Braithwaite all for single figures to claim 5 wickets. 

Amin however was not finished and neither were Kendal as it seemed when Jack White (28) took it upon himself to knock off the runs, but in doing this however he ran out his captain Miller to leave any result still possible.

He was soon to follow bowled by the superb Amin whose figures of (7-33) off 22.2 overs, to secure the victory for Morecambe.

Morecambe skipper Lewis Edge was pleased with his team’s performance: “it’s all starting to come together, the lads grafted out a score on a damp green wicket and the pro bowled superbly today.  As a side we are seriously growing in confidence.”
