Northwood Town were defeated by four wickets for the second saturday in succession but will be content to have walked away with 16 points against promotion chasers North Mymms given the depletion of their side. 

They will also be encouraged that their batting form appears to have picked up after some poor early season form.

Winning the toss, skipper David Bushnell elected to bat and the now established partnership of Raj Ahluwalia and Akshay Loomba opened with confidence. 

The pair put on 62 in 18 overs before Ahluwalia (25) was dismissed.

Scott Walker has been showing good form with the bat and he settled in to continue the momentum as Town reached 101-1. 

Walker's (30) dismissal saw veteran Phil Carter enter the fray but his poor run of form continuedas Town wavered on 126-3.

Loomba had been in excellent form and he reached his 50 before being dismissed trying to up the run rate. 

As in the previous week, Town's efforts to reach a big score saw regular wickets fallbut a cameo 30 not out from Craig Newman towards the end pushed Town up to a credible 206-7.

 The pitch was clearly advantageous for a spinning attack and Bushnell took the option to turn his hand to spinalongside Raj Kotecha. 

Kotecha was the bigger success snaring 3 wickets but a missed opportunity to put Mymms on the back foot went when their main player was dropped on 30 - he was to go on and win the match with an innings of 90. 

Despite defeat. Town will be encouraged by the performance and will hope that availability improvements give them a big push for the end of season run in.

A magnificent unbeaten 142 from Adam Hills gave Northwood Town's 2nd team an excellent seven wicket victory over London Colney and kept the hosts in the promotion frame.

Fielding first Town were flat and produced a poor bowling and fielding performance with Hills 2-38 showingthe only bit of form. 

At tea the visitors had notched up 220-4 and with Town missing many of their regulars, a hard chase looked in prospect. 

Things looked bleaker as Suvin Mekwan went after just four balls but Hills joining Jim Cotton was to turn the game on its head. 

Hills took an aggressive approach as Cotton was content to keep one end up and the pair produced a magnificent partnership of 156 off 27 overs before Cotton was dismissed for 34.

Kunal Sanghai (20) entered the crease to keep the momentum up but it was Hills who took the plaudits with a fantastic unbeaten 142, including 17x4 and 8x6 and the hosts eased home for the loss of three wickets.

Northwood Town’s 3^rd team are already promoted but are keen to end up as high as possible and enjoyed a three wicket win over Botany Bay. 

Fielding first, Jack Daly overcame a terrible year of injuries and produced 5-45 as the hosts scored 121-6 in their allotted overs.

In reply, Ed Johnson (47) was the main man for Town as they held their nerve to get home by three wickets.
