Preston Nomads - 2012 Sussex Premier League Champions
Preston Nomads.CC lost just two league matches all season to win their fifth Sussex Premier League title in seven years.
Runs from Jeremy Green & Robert Wakeford led the way for Preston alongside the occasional cameo appearance from Sussex batsman Joe Gatting.
The ever-present seamer Carl Simon was once again key for Preston, taking over 50 wickets at an average of 13.
It was also a triumphant year for Cuckfield.CC & Three Bridges.CC, who finished in the top two of the 2nd Division to return to the Premier League after short absences from the top flight.
Three Bridges were comprehensive in their bid to bounce straight back up losing just one match whilst Cuckfield edged out St James's Montefiore.CC, who finished just four points adrift in third place.
It’s commiserations for Bexhill.CC & Eastbourne.CC though, who are relegated into the 2nd Division of the league.
Quite remarkably, Eastbourne still went down despite having the Premier League’s top runs-scorer in Mark Tomsett, and former test players Ed Giddins & Mohammad Akram at their disposal.
There was also promotion success for Middleton.CC & Crowhurst Park.CC who will take their place in Division two of the league next season after winning their respective leagues.
Preston Nomads 2nd team made sure it was a double title winning season for the club as they clinched the 2nd XI Division One title.
Crawley Eagles.CC remained unbeaten throughout the season to take the West Sussex Division One League title and clinch a place in Division Three (West) of the Sussex League.
Rottingdean.CC will take their place in Division Three (East) of the Sussex League after winning the East Sussex League.
Meanwhile Stirlands.CC reinforced their reputation as having one of the most picturesque grounds in the county to finish top of the Sussex League pitch table which is marked by the competition’s panel umpires.
