Sawbridgeworth C.C. will be celebrating their 150th successful year this upcoming season.
The club, founded in 1862, is situated four miles south of Bishop’s Stortford on the East Hertfordshire border.
The club has five Saturday teams, with 1st team plying their trade in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League Division 2.
As a town of around 10,000 people putting out five teams can be quite a challenge and, with finances low, the club are looking to make sure the presence of the club is sustained.
Their home ground Town Fields, one of the most picturesque grounds in Hertfordshire, has recently undergone extensive construction with major reconstruction to the clubhouse and brand new net facilities opened at the local ‘Leventhorpe’ school, all which were necessary for the survival of the club.
Although the club has been around for a century and a half this could be one of the most important years in their existence so your continual support is essential for it to remain an integral part of the local community for many more years to come.
Plans and final details for the club’s anniversary will be finalised at the annual AGM on 10th February. To find out more information about what will be taking place throughout this special campaign check out the Sawbridgeworth C.C. website:
