Sidmouth Cricket Club secured their fourth Devon Premier League title in five years after a last-day victory over title rivals Exmouth.CC.
The 4-wicket victory capped off a great season for Sidmouth that saw the club finish just three points off 2nd place Exmouth.
Joshua Bess, Sam Anderson, Matt Cooke and Anthony Griffiths were all influential for Sidmouth with the bat this season hitting 350 runs each.
It has definitely been close at the top of the league all season with the 3rd and 4th placed teams; Bovey Tracey.CC and Plymouth.CC finishing just eight points of champions Sidmouth.
Exmouth batsman David Lye finished at the top of the run-scoring table in the league hitting 722 runs at an average of 51.
North Devon all-rounder Glen Querl finished top of the bowling equivalent table with 39 wickets at an average of only 9.
It’s commiserations though for Heathcoat.CC and Sandford.CC who are relegated from the Premier League.
It will be Exeter.CC and Cornwood.CC who will replace the pair In the Premier League after they finished 1st and 2nd respectively in A Division of the Devon League.
Exeter in particular were impressive throughout the season and remained unbeaten with 10 victories to move to the top flight as champions.
