A Lincolnshire Premier League meeting next month will decide next season’s fate for four of the county’s clubs.
Scunthorpe.CC, winners of the Premier Division in the Lincolnshire County League & winners of Division One of the South Lincolnshire & Border League, Spalding.CC will stake their claim for a place in the county’s Premier League.
The Lincolnshire Premier League committee will assess whether the two clubs meet the required criteria to compete at the highest amateur level possible in the county.
If the clubs applications are successful, Boston.CC and Market Deeping.CC will be relegated into one of the county’s feeder leagues.
Scunthorpe will be hopeful of their chances of securing a place in the Premier League after impressing this season to win what is tough league and full of very capable teams.
The club have also been boosted by the news they have been awarded a community grant of £30,000 by North Lincolnshire to help towards building a new pavilion, with plans to start building later this winter.
Spalding were also impressive throughout the 2012 season, deservedly securing their first title 34 years.
Whilst it is not just a formality, both sides are expected to take their place in the premier league In 2013.
